Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan – The U.S.-led international coalition carried out several airstrikes against positions of the Islamic State radical group (IS/ISIL) in Syria and Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force reported in an official statement on Thursday.
The coalition’s officials said that the international coalition’s warplanes hit the radical group with 16 airstrikes in Iraq and five similar raids in Syria.
The coalition’s raids Iraq focused on tactical units, sniper positions and armored vehicles of the Islamic State in Mosul, Sinjar, Fallujah and Ramadi.
In Syria, the U.S.-led strikes were concentrated on the province of Hasakah and the countryside of Kobane.
According to the statement, the recent operations caused damage to IS tactical units and fighting positions in the targeted areas.
