Damascus, Syria – On Thursday, at least ten civilians were killed when Syrian warplanes targeted the Zabdean district in the suburb of Damascus.

Among the casualties were five children, local sources reported.

The city of Duma in the countryside of Damascus saw a similar aerial bombardment by forces loyal to President Bashr al-Assad, causing the death of one man and the injury of more than 7 others.

In the meantime, fighting continued between rebel factions and pro-Assad military forces in the countryside of Damascus, without remarkable change in the areas of control in the Syrian capital.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has so far documented 1,700 airstrikes by the Syrian air force since the beginning of the month, including 725 strikes in and around Damascus.
