Aleppo air strikes claim more lives among civilians

Aleppo, Syria – The Syrian regime warplanes targeted on Tuesday the city of Azaz in the countryside of Aleppo. At least 10 civilians were killed and 22 were injured, local sources reported.

Emad Hussein, a local activist based in Aleppo city, told ARA News that the regime warplanes targeted the International Highway near Azaz city with guided missiles causing the death of 10 civilians, among them women and children, and the injury of about 22 civilians.

“The injured were taken to field hospitals in Azaz city, while those seriously injured were taken to hospitals in Turkey,” Hussein said.

Hussein also added that regime helicopters dropped explosive barrels on the Regiment 45 in the city of al-Atarib, east of Aleppo. No casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, lawyer Ismail Aziz told ARA News: “Regime warplanes targeted with missiles the town of Batbo in the western countryside of Aleppo. One civilian was killed.”

“The cities of Mara’ and Darat Azza were similarly targeted by regime warplanes. Dozens of civilians were reported dead and others injured,” Aziz reported.

In the meantime, regime warplanes reportedly targeted the predominantly Kurdish neighbourhood of al-Ashrafiya with explosive barrels. The exact number of casualties is not known yet, but locals talked about dozens.
