Explosion hit Syria’s Hasaka

Qamishli, Syria – On Thursday, an explosion hit Tel Hajar district in Hasaka city near the headquarter of Kurdish Assayish forces −linked to the Democratic Union Party (PYD). 

Dilovan Mohammed, an activist based in Hasaka city, told ARA News that the bombing −which was carried out by an unknown party− took place in the main street of Tel Hajar district (200m from the Assayish headquarter).

“Two civilians were injured as a result of the explosion and were taken to the National Hospital in al-Aziziya district in Hasaka,” Mohammad said. “A large material damage was seen in the explosion’s location.”  

“The bomb was planted in a motorbike which was apparently heading to the headquarter of the PYD-linked Assayish forces in Hasaka city,” Mohammad told ARA News. “After the explosion, the Assayish forces surrounded the location and blocked the road leading to it, amid security alert among its members.”
